And it had a lot of super cute clothes in it - I mean tons of really, really cute stuff.

But there was this one skirt and shirt that took the cake, for me. Laura and I were squealing and squeeing about it. I mean...geez. My baby + this outfit = !!!!!

She is all banged up :/ She's too fearless for a 10 month old...she's gotten so good at walking, and now she can walk FAST and climb far too well (from the block table to the bench and right up over the back of the couch in under 30 seconds, for instance - things like up onto Isaac's toddler bed stopped being hard long ago).

YESTERDAY it was so bad I didn't even want to take her out - I thought somebody would call the cops on us or something! We went to the zoo as it was Grant's day off and the whole time I was aware of it. She had, in addition to that forehead knot and the hairline bang, a vertical line bruise on one cheek and a red side of her nose. She thinks it's a good idea to play rough with her big brothers, among other things, but they are pretty gentle with her...it's usually her own fault when she goes diving or careening.

Still adorable.

"Wait a minute...my sister has a muffin...let me wait until she's off her guard...and...

"NOW!!!"

Guess who won that battle?

They're really good muffins.

Brian likes them, too.

I seriously cannot get over this outfit.

Fat feet!

"I picked you some flowers, Mom."

As soon as I took them, he said, "Have milk now?" I think he was trying to buy it :p He's been getting a ton more rest and I've been making sure to give him outside running time every afternoon, and he's really, really better because of it...I don't know how people with little kids, especially little boys, DEAL with winter up north and not getting out of the house!

I did something crazy last night. I slept. Really! Grant, Jake, Elise and I all went down together at about 1:30am, after a fun night of barbecue and backyard s'mores with Shaun, and went to sleep. And Jake, Elise and I didn't get up until 11am. It was incredible. Though at the time, I was less than thrilled. Going to sleep right when they did meant that when I got up, last night's dinner mess was still ALL OVER THE KITCHEN, a few dishes left on the dining table, and there was food on the floor around Elise's chair and the bench she sometimes stands at with fruit, and the de-cluttering of the general floor that I usually do before I lay down was still not done...It was just a disaster, I had to spend the hour and a half that I usually do late at night cleaning just to get it to the point it's usually at when I wake up and say, "Ugh, I HAVE to sweep and mop and vaccum and scrub the table and clear this Counter of Doom NOW just to make this place liveable".

But, I had my old, normal level of patience and fun, and things just seemed so much easier as evening kicked in, and I really think it's because I was rested. It's a conundrum.

Laura was here most of the afternoon today, so with her help I was able to get the kitchen totally under control even with a big lunch and a batch of muffins factored in...we just double teamed all of it together and ate together and played outside together. Everyone always says "clean as you go", but that's not so easy when you're wearing a baby, letting a toddler "help" and teaching two different math lessons "as you go" already.

Evening: A and A wanted to paint an egg carton.

Her haircut rocks. Everyone loves it. Our neighbor Martha says she is jealous.

Isaac is back on The Wizard of Oz.

This baby fell asleep in the sling...

And then transferred easily.

I'm happy.

Today was "That day" with Elise...that day that I cried about in the NICU, wanting so bad and afraid would never come. With her all dolled up in some cute dress running around outside, laughing and ticklish and eating things...it just hit me at some point. Damn I love this baby. I mean, damn.

She's been wearing something out of that package every day since it came :) It's all great. And the cds are in my van.

Thank you!

They're all too big for her and too small for Jake. Apparently her feet are smaller than I knew, I guess this one pair of Target shoes she's been wearing are sized weird? Because the new ones I ordered for her that are (also) fives are still a bit too big. They grow so fast, though, they'll all fit before I know it and then be outgrown by the time she's barely used them...

That soaker is HUGE, we were laughing about it a little - I mean Elise has one fat cellulite butt, but I think Ananda could wear that thing if the waist gave just a bit more :p

She was in the pink striped, collared onesie today - the preppie sort of polo-ish one? Yesterday she wore a floral tank top that may actually be a sun dress, with doubled straps on both sides. It was adorable with her Fuzzi Bunz poking out.

She's almost exclusively in FB at this point...I just couldn't stand it anymore at some point, something had to give and though it really does make me (way too dramatically) sad, I've mostly given up everything else. I want to make her longies SO BAD, but it's like...why? Bah.

It's slightly easier than it would have been with the boys since all of her regular old clothes are so adorable, whereas they relied more on longies and things ;)

Where is this letter, btw? I almost feel like you're trying to buy my silence :p Not really, but I was just soliciting coorespondence, I hope you know.

Ananda's haircut makes her look so grown up and mature now. Wow. I can't believe how big they're getting. Weren't you just pregnant with Isaac the other day? :-p

That outfit is so gorgeous! Your kids are so beautiful!

I'm glad you got some sleep. I know just how out of sorts one can feel with a constant lack of sleep. The color just drains out of the world and everything is a struggle. Even just a little sleep can make all the difference.

OMG, she is so beautiful in that adorable outfit! I just cried a bit here, overwhelmed with remembering all the stuff that you all went through when/after she was born.

I just love your beautiful family. You should do a reality show, lol! You put so many other mama's out there to shame (including myself!) but you do make me strive to want to do a better job than I usually do, if that makes sense.
Thank you for sharing your amazing family and all of the ups and downs of your life. You are beyond awesome.

It kind of cracks me up how it's the posts where I say, "My baby is covered in bruises and my house is a pigsty!!" that get people telling me I'm inspiring ;)

But I think I know what you mean. Thank you, anyway :)

She gets me like that, too, about three dozen times a day. It never gets old.

North!

Excuse me - our children do go outside!!! It is rather surreal to see the sun-dress and green grass, when 6 more inches of snow fell in Ottawa this week-end, followed by a good solid glaze of freezing rain. I will send some evidence that my babies were not house confined from October to April! aj
