Well, that was anticlimactic...
Jul. 14th, 2006 02:24 pmI've been using this piece of crap computer forever, like Windows 98, doesn't play anyone's videos, can't click on links in AIM without freezing everything, blue screen of death if you run more than 3 programs at a time...you get the picture. It was kind of cool in the sense that nobody else could make it do ANYTHING, so nobody else ever touched it. We had a connection. Grant/Shaun/Robbie would get on this thing, and get right back off while it restarted. But I could do what I wanted to do.
This has been going on for over 3 years. G Sr said regularly that it boggled his mind that the thing still ran, it was like a ten year old system.
Yesterday it bit the dust. So Grant went over to his out of house office and got one of myriad far more advanced computers off the floor. Brought it home and hooked it up. Here I am on XP with my shit actually acting like we have dsl.
O_o
I'm starting to get frustrated with not having everything off of my old harddrive. He's retrieving it all for me "when he has time". You know, never. Not literally though. Mainly I want Word and Cracked. But PSP would be nice too, along with all my bookmarked favorites. I'm also wondering if it is worthwhile to get my tired old blue sky and clouds desktop back.
I'm all better, btw. And have been off the refined sugar and white flour completely again for a successful 3 days. I started my pilates book yesterday. Watch out world. I'm motivated to do things like call up a babysitter and go with G to see "Pirates of the Caribbean" and we actually have the money in the bank.
