Beautiful daughters ♥

Beautiful sons ♥

Obsessed with Calvin and Hobbes.

He just gets them two at a time. "Them" being apples, yogurts, applesauces, oranges, etc...

All the ladies chilling in my bed.

College this semester has made me more keenly aware of certain things. I listen to the Jehovah's Witness and the general JW views we study, in my religion class (they do not believe in blood transfusions), and I see the blood drives all over all campuses, complete with incentives to compel people to donate and people frequently expressing that they either always or never do. It came up once how blood transfusions were just not an option for most of history and people forget that. And it's occurred to me that it's a "thing" about myself, a thing like "mother of five" or "born in Key West" or "writer" or whatever, that my life was saved by a blood transfusion. More significant than I used to find it.
I'm also kind of considering my birthday as it approaches. Four years ago, I lay dying in the ICU on my birthday and shit was BAD. For a couple of years after, I was always afraid I could end up back in the hospital at the drop of a hat...very "borrowed time". At this point my perspective is shifting and it's more like, "I almost died" is one of those "things" about myself, like "I've had a lot of surgeries", and "my childhood was pretty out there". Something in the past that I'm not living in the same way anymore. Less significant than I used to find it.
This is kind of freaky-accurate for a test with only five questions O_o
