altarflameThere are flowers EVERYWHERE, and I love it so so much. We always have a lot of flowers down here, but springtime is ridiculous. I took pictures of SOME of the flowers in the 6 blocks between our house and Elise's preschool, on our walk there the other day:
These guys are so benign and unnoticeable most of the year, and then they all do this at once:
They're lining Krome Ave and Biscayne in places.
Bougainvillea of all sorts, everywhere, all the time.
(this one under a bottle brush tree)
I don't know what any of these are.
We call these tiny things fairy flowers, they carpet the grass in places and always appear to be sparkling.
But these are a type of orchid, over some jews ("purple heart wandering jews" is what google tells me they're really called).
And these jasmin may not look like much, but the smell blows all over the neighborhood on the wind at night.
Nature is trying to overcome all these broke-busted pickup trucks.

Those lillies were HUGE, smelled so strongly that it filled the room, and lasted over 2 weeks :)
I sed to tell my kids to stay off the (boring, password protected normal) computers (in the background) at the library. But now they have these kid-friendly stations set up that they cam just get on by themselves, and it's basically all over. This is Elise and Georgia at TLC.
At least Aaron has succumbed to the Hunger Games peer pressure :)
Annie drawing by rope light on her loft bed in the middle of the night. She heard the camera noise and was like "Mom!"
He heard the camera noise, yelled, "Mom!" and then covered his head with a blanket. From a dead sleep! I can yell his name for half an hour, I can OPEN HIS EYELIDS AND LOOK IN AT HIS UNCONSCIOUS EYES, but the little iPhone camera noise will get him :p
You know what it is? With all these dumb self taken myspace angle van pictures? It's that the mirror-cover on my visor broke off. So now anytime I need my visor, I'm constantly seeing myself. Sometimes, granted, it's horrible, other times it motivates me to say clean something from between my teeth or off my chin, but now and then I'm like, well damn lady. I would do you right now.
Thank God the visor doesn't reflect me from below or probably I'd have had a serious personal crisis by now ;)

Random visitor that had an epic chase and battle with Peter (Aaron's cat) all over the yard, until he realized Peter does not stick on walls.
