We're leaving to go stay in a rental cabin on a cool looking campground for a few days, near where my Nana and Pa live. They have free paddle boats and a pool and a playground, and we're taking the bikes with us. The cabin has a kitchen.
I am mentally bracing myself for a lot of hospital visitation. Well, she is actually in an assisted living facility, but you know. The campground aspect helps a lot with that, it seems like a perfect balance. I may also visit the local Disciples of Christ and/or Catholic churches while we're up there, on Sunday. I hope it is good for Pa, and my Mom, and of course my Nana as well...
Grant is looking forward to hiking it up to Lake City one of those days to finally see his mother's property and house, which has been there for years already waiting for them to move North. And he has an aunt with a huge cow farm and pear trees and things. We will probably devote about 24 hours of our week to that piligrimage. It's the same place he had his family reunion years ago when Isaac was an infant, and it's really nice there.
My sister is caring for our assorted animals while we are away. I'm glad we don't have any single thing that is alone - the cats, rabbits and chickens all have each other. But segregated. You know.
Anyway, we are out for a week.
