(no subject)

I heard this song the other day, for the first time, and it made me cry my eyes out. I asked Laura to listen to it and she said it was as if someone had been writing it for me - when we were in Boston. When I was so afraid Elise would never open her eyes again and we waited to see what would happen and I had a wound to be packed...geez. I was having a perfectly normal day 7 months out from the worst of that nightmare, but it made me squeeze her awfully tight when we stopped and parked.

Grant made a really great picture post the other day over at theneolistickid, and I'm stealing one of the shots of her looking at him with her best adoring her daddy looks.


In addition to her standard impressive fast crawling all over the house, standing and walking behind anything she can push (her push cart, a ride on toy, the little plastic chairs that go with our kids' table), and eating chunks of banana by holding it herself and taking bites - she is kissing me now! And she's saying "Mama" :D Only, what, 2 months after she first said Dada :p

I have so many different things I want to update about, I decided I'm going to try to stop the epic length posts and just get in a one subject entry whenever I can. There just isn't time to sit down at the computer for an hour straight right now.
