An Hour a Night, Day Two
Jun. 29th, 2006 03:31 amI wrote another two pages. I'm so excited. I don't know how to convey it. I wish Shaun, Bobby, Melissa, ANYONE who has read Cracked was on, so I could say, but look at THIS! READ THIS!!
There is just nothing like finding that thread and following it. Something just clicks and...
I suppose it says something that I lose all feeling in my foot and leg without even realizing it. I have horrible circulation and I always know that, and take it into account - I VERY frequently change positions when I'm sitting here, normally. But when I go into that Zone, it's like a coma or something, and when I come out of it again, I end up paying for it...
I remember once in 4th grade I sat on my knees, with some other kids, for an assembly where they ran out of chairs. When it was over I actually managed to get up and leave the cafeteria without feeling that I'd lost one of my slip on shoes. I mean, grass, sidewalk - someone had to point it out to me. It's so bad.
I get up after an hour of writing like that, a couple of decades worse for wear than I was in 4th grade, and like LURCH away from my desk, hobbling - I have to use my thigh muscles (in whichever leg I was sitting on) to swing the rest of my leg forward and just trust that the bones of that foot that aren't even detectable will support my weight. If I'm not careful with how I drop it, the whole foot like crumples up on the toes and if I don't see that I'll fall down when I shift to it. This lasts, like...a minute? Then I have the pins and needles feeling REALLY BAD for a couple more, then a slight buzz for awhile after that. Ridiculous. If I DO make a career out of writing, I'm freaking sure to end up with vericose veins worse than my Nana. Eww. No offense to her intended.
Anyway, yeah, I love this so much, it's...dare I say...yes...it's better than sleep. Doing this again.
