This is what my kids think grandmothers look like...

It doesn't quite do them justice - you can't see the barbed wire tattoo around my mothers upper left arm (it doesn't go the whole way around to the inner arm), or the tiger tattoo that is peaking out on the back of her right shoulderblade. And the lighting is terrible and creating shadows that give them both a bit more double chin than in strictly true. But yeah, that's my mom (41) and Grant's mom (47 - she had her first at the same age as my mom did, but Grant is not her first..thus, she has Robby, a 10 year old grandchild, as well as Mindy's girls, who are turning 7, and not just our 5 and under crew).



In other news - I've decided that if I'm still pregnant this time tomorrow, I'm going to put all of the baby's things on ebay and use the money to buy a serious maternity wardrobe that I can use for the rest of my life.

that is insane...my mom was 17 when she had me, my fiance's mother was 40 when she had him
(and he's 16 years older than me...two years younger than my mom...hah)

i've just grown the appreciate the variability in motherhood ;)

My mom was 19 when she had me, and MIL was 38 when she had Harold - also twice as old!! Crazy, isn't it? ;) Harold's dad was born in 1917! My grandfather wasn't born until 1930!

i had to have an emotional flooding to go into labor...something was holding me up, fear..worry...etc.

i sat by the river and cried and went into labor the next morning.

i have a very young grandmother and people don't believe that she is with her greatgrandson when my son is out with her...and they think my mom is his mom...it's wonderful, though
