Well, I've had mild to moderate contractions every few minutes for the past 5 1/2 hours. By every few minutes, I mean probably no less than 2 and no more than 10 minutes apart. They seem to last a good minute each, sometimes longer. Some of them are kind of intense, most are just uncomfortable.

And we're now under a hurricane watch o_O I REALLY don't want to be faced with "I'm in labor, and there's a hurricane going on" OR "I'm in labor, but a hurricane is about to hit and the kids are scared". It's kind of ridiculous, because on the news they're talking about how the biggest hazard right now is that all the debris from Hurrican Katrina is still piled up in front of everyone's houses, and will become projectiles. My poor dad, they're evacuating all the tourists from Key West again, and they JUST came back. He's going to be so, so broke (he drives a cab).

It's been an ok day. Grant and I joined forces and did a bunch of cleaning this evening. We had taco salad for dinner. He's being really good to me, and I'm appreciating all of the kids a lot.

I think there is a slight possibility that I have a small fluid leak. But I can't tell for sure, so I'm going with "slight possibility". I imagine it will be more clear as time passes? I only began to suspect in the past half hour.

I know this isn't terribly exciting, but I also know that some of you are watching for updates. So...there you have it :p

Have the baby already! Every time I read one of your entries you're all "I'm having contractions... maaaaaaybe". Stop teasing me! I want to see a baby announcement and pictures! :D

What all that means is good luck and I hope all goes well... I suppose I'll have to be in suspense for now.

My midwife said to know if it's fluid or not (if you don't have a PH strip with you), move around when you feel it. If it intensifies or changes when you change position, particularly if you stand or sit - it's probably fluid. If not it's probably bladder or discharge (like mucous plug. Which, btw, if you're dilating, may continually ooze out in a semi-liquidy way until you give birth like mine did).

I can't STAND it!

Okay, yes I can. But only because I have too. I think I may be as excited about the impending birth of this baby as I was about my nieces and nephews.
