Wow! Lots of adventures with cats, food and friends. Good for you!
I had a friend who lived near Boston who invited me for a visit. I've never had problems with allergies, but I did with her two long haired cats. It got so bad that, even though it was winter, I put my heavy coat on over my pajamas, took all the quilts I could find, and went out to my car in the middle of the night and curled up in the back seat. When morning came and I knew folks were up, I went back in, got dressed and say my "good-by's". It took a couple of days for me to get it out!of my system! So I know how it must have been awful for you at your friend's house.
It's great that you had an opportunity to be with friends you enjoy a have lots of time for visiting over what looks like really great food.
