Oh, yeah, the financial aspect is such a major one, even with all the cost-cutting and bargain-hunting, it's still money x however many children, and it has to come from somewhere. Eg, we just moved to a new town and have therefore lost our main source of clothing (the daycare manager whose children were each a year older than my oldest two) and I'm like, 'Ugh, you mean I have to BUY CLOTHES now?! WHAT.' and even at the op shop it costs a lot more than free ;) Breastfed babies lull you into a false sense of economy!
