I can really relate to this. I've been through quite a journey faith-wise, and although I've never lost my faith, I've lost my faith in the church more than once. I also have Anne Rice's book Out of the Darkness and plan on reading while I am off track. I think I know who you are referring to who used to be orthodox. Is this person on lj?
