I had to wake them up early to get to the vet for surgery.

No one was very excited. This is Annie's "uuugh" face as she moves her bunny out of the crate we took Hoppy in.

I love this.
A couple of my favorite small things happened today;
-When I went into the kids' bathroom this morning, it was still full of steam and smells from Grant's shower before he went to work (while I was sleeping). There is a very specific "Grant's shower" smell, it's a certain combination of products, and him. I love it. I stand there and breathe deep and feel close to him.
-we happened to be driving down 15th, through the tunnel-like canopy of banyan trees, right as the light was streaking through the leaves and shining in rays all over the place. It's always "a haze of green and gold" (yes, I am a dork...it's from the Dark Tower) at around 5. My favorite thing about having a "sky view" van now is those trees.
It's cold, though. Cold for here. I used to love the cold, but it just...grates on me, now. Ever since Boston. I hate it. I feel like I'm shaking apart in the cold. And I mean, like...our cold. 62. I grew up really talking a lot of crap about hating the heat and loving the occassion to wear a flannel or jacket, I was so happy anytime I woke up and it was the slightest bit chilly out. Now I really find myself identifying with the palm trees and relieved that I live here. The low tonight is 35. THIRTY FIVE, south of Miami!
I do love having a toasty warm house, when it's cold. We don't turn on the heater, but it's still like thawing out to come inside. And Grant is ALWAYS furnace-hot, and one of my absolute favorite things is, on the nights when the floors are chilly and I'm wearing a sweater at the computer, to slip under the covers where he's been sleeping for awhile already and just revel in all that heat.
Time to take Ananda, Aaron and Isaac to AWANA.
