Update and Help
Jun. 20th, 2007 06:02 amThis is Grant.
When we got to Miami Children's Hospital, her temp was 103. They did blood tests, urine tests, blood cultures, spinal to check for Menengitis. I don't know the results of these tests yet, but they admitted her into the hospital for at least a 24-48 hour monitoring period, pending the test results.
Jake was fussy and tired so I left and we're home now. Laura, Tina's sister, (aka
eternamariposa) stayed with the other three kids while we went. Tina, of course, stayed with Elise.
My wife is such an amazing woman. I wish I were half the father that she is a mother. I hope that sentence makes sense. I need sleep.
Ok, now we've got a problem. I'm back working again, but checks haven't started coming in yet. I don't get paid till next, next Friday (June 29). Our bank account is negative $900 or so, we have less than two dollars in the PayPal account and I even took our change jar to buy groceries the other day. We've been hoping to kind of get by and what we have here (enough dinners for a few days, not to mention PATH moms bringing us dinner - THANKS SO MUCH, by the way) but this is too much. I had to max out my business credit card paying for a pediatrician's appointment and gas to get to MCH tonight. I literally don't have enough money or gas to get back to the hospital, or enough to bring Tina some food.
It's a sad state of affairs. That being said, we should be back on our feet in about a month or so.
My question is this...Is there anyone out there that can lend us some money for about a month? I know this is a lot to ask because you've all given so much already (both money and given of yourselves in prayers, emotional support, etc), but I need help.
If so, please send it via PayPal at this link:
I know it says donate, but it is a loan that I intend to pay back.
My first pastor once told me that as people get older, they get more independent, or relying on themselves. She said the next step in that evolution is becoming interdependent, or relying on everyone. Well, she said something to that effect. She never mentioned how crappy it makes you feel.
I love you all and I need to get some sleep. I will update as I get more information.

P.S. - Why is life so expensive? Can't we just live on some farm where everyone has chores? Being an adult sucks.
ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz.....

Update and Thank you
Jun. 20th, 2007 01:28 pmThere's not much to update. Most of the tests came back negative, but we have to wait 48 hours for the blood cultures to come back. Tina still hasn't slept, so we are going up there now to try to figure out how we can relieve her for a little while.
Through this all, Elise is still a smiley and happy baby.
Thank you all for the loans. I think we have enough to get us through now.
