altarflame: (All Four)
My little Jakeasaurus is 9 months old today. He said "Dada" yesterday, in context.

Isaac's hit two milestones of sorts this week. First, he's figured out "tricking people" AND LOVES IT. He came to me whining "poopy, poopy diaper". "You need me to change you?" I asked. "Yup-o" So I start taking off his diaper and there's nothing in it. He immediately starts laughing his head off, saying "No poopy, all clean" through his giggles. Things like this are his new favorite thing. And the other new thing is, he's stringing together A LOT of words. Before this week he was a 2, maybe 3 word phrase kind of toddler. Now he's saying "I like soup. No like corn. Want only soup." and "Mommy told me more blueberries" (to Grant), or "Get me cow's milk and cereal please" (cereal is still ree ree, though).

I was getting the little ones out of their carseats yesterday afternoon, after we got home from picking Annie up from dance camp, and A and A had run ahead to the (locked) front door.
Aaron: Moooom, Annie said "Damn"!
Annie: I did not, Aaron, I -
Aaron: YES SHE DID, she said "damn"
Annie: Aaron STOP LY -
Me: HEY, you guys, get a grip...Annie, what did you say?
Annie: I said damnITT, because I wanted to go in and lay down on the couch, but when I got here the door was locked.
Me: O_o Um. Well, ok, I know you guys here me say "Damnitt" over things like that, and I don't really think cussing is that bad, but most other grown ups think it is bad, especially when little kids are doing it. If people hear you talk that way, they're going to think you're a brat or a bad kid. So I don't want you to say it anymore.
Annie: Alright.

btw, I'm sick. I spent the whole afternoon and evening yesterday burning up with fever, shivering under 3 blankets. With a terrible headache and very sore throat. Grant had to come home from work early because I was just incapable of anything. It started on the ride home from getting Annie. I still feel like crap, but I'm letting G sleep a little before he gets up and helps more...it's so hard, when I get sick, because he goes nuts from lost money and time and customers having to wait, and I feel guilty for being sick as well as, you know, like crap because I'm sick...the house is TRASHED. Last night after G and the kids all got back from going someplace, Aaron came in my dark room where I was laying down and got in bed with me. He'd brought me another blanket, and gave me a lot of hugs and a kiss on the forehead. He said he was scared I'd keep getting sicker and sicker and "have to go back to the hospital". He is so, so sweet.
