I'm so proud of Grant
Feb. 24th, 2006 07:33 pmWe just came from an exhibit at The Paradise Tree, this framing shop near Miami Dade College, for the Homestead Art Club. They picked some of his photography to be a part of it, and it sold! He's never sold anything before :)
Jake made everyone there so happy - he grinned and laughed at everyone who said hi to him, and they all thought he just liked them. Ananda and Aaron were painfully shy and not especially polite, either, but blended into the crowd and I did get to show them some good art they were interested in so all was not lost.
Anyone who doesn't know Grant has a livejournal should go check it out. He basically only posts amazing food pictures and recipes, cool photography, rock sculptures and the occasional poem. He doesn't update nearly as often as I do but I think that when he does it often tends to have more merit ;) He's
theneolistickid - I'm always thinking it's insane that he doesn't get more feedback then he does, but I suppose he's not out their networking in the communities like I am.
ETA - This is the picture that sold (and won an award last fall):
