Not a lot of time...
Jan. 27th, 2006 05:39 pmI've been so busy with kids and housework and junk, it's ridiculous! We're still doing tea outside every afternoon with some activity under the trampoline, still doing bedtime routines and reading, still doing homeschool. I'm still cooking for everyone and trying to keep up with the dishes and laundry with lots of nursing and diaper changes in between. I'm happier about it, as in, not having my nightly evening breakdown, since I've gotten back on track spiritually. I still get a sense of heaviness or a moment where I have to breathe here and there, but they are briefer times and so far haven't involved crying.
Our playdate at the park with the LLL moms went great. I feel comfortable with them, but not sure how comfortable I am going deeper into "real friend" business. They're great to sit and talk about parenting things with, but they are also homeowning wives who talk about their HMOs and it makes me feel a little awkward getting into "Yeah, we're uninsured because medicaid dropped us, and we live with our father in law. Also we're planning our wedding.." territory. Ah, well. One of them at least seems extremely nonjudgemental and down to earth, and the other seems as if she'll still hang out and act nice to me even if she's talking behind my back ;)
Wedding is still being planned, we went and got materials for invitations last night. Talked to my pastor of choice, there are time and geographical constraints that are making it difficult, especially with the premarital counseling that he and we want to do. We're still figuring out how to make it happen, our choices seem to be choosing another location, contacting another pastor, or waiting 1-3 months longer than we had planned. Decision to be made this weekend.
Last night over pizza:
Grant to Isaac: Hey, Isaac, what's 1+1?
Isaac:*Points to his pizza*
Grant to Isaac: 1+1=pizza?
Isaac: Yeah!
Grant to me: Tina, I don't think this homeschool thing is going to work out.
I'm really appreciating Jake and Isaac like crazy this week. I'm eating their smallness and cuddliness up, smelling them and squeezing them and kissing them as often as possible. Aaron is making me completely bonkers with his hyperactivity and nonstop questioning and whining, but I'm fairly certain that me going bonkers means he's getting what he needs from me ;) Usually this comes in phases as he gets smarter or more aware in some way, and then fades away as he adjusts to where he's at again. Annie is thrilled with everything: the necklace Grant brought home for her last weekend from this farmer's market he was at, us renting March of the Peguins, every tea time activity we do, anything she can help me with. She just has a really great attitude, aside from snippiness with Aaron.
( Sweater love, as it actually got cold enough to warrant sweaters! )
