It wasn't really iron, my problem was platelets, which are the clotting agent in your blood. I have a recurring problem with low platelets in pregnancy...It was yellow dock, I took it in tincture and it DID pull up my hemoglobin (which is probably what she needs) as well.

If she eats spinach with a vitamin C food everyday, that could be enough for her. Cutting out dairy is also helpful, as dairy blocks iron absorption. Right now I'm taking a very bioavailable multivitamin that supports healthy blood and energy levels, it's called Hema-Plex and has really helped me feel better in my daily life. She might be interested in trying that, or yellow dock, but yellow dock taken over a long time can cause potassium deficiency problems in your body.

Aside from any of those things, other things that can help her iron levels are:
Red raspberry leaf tea (the loose natural kind, not powdered in a box)
Chewing sesame seeds until they form a paste
Chlorophyll (2 tbsp a day, available at health food stores)

I hope she does find something that works. Combining some of the things I've mentioned here should help, unless she has a very serious problem. I've dealt with anemia in my daughter and myself so I've kind of been around the block with it.
