Hmm, I hadn't even thought of that...I know you wanted them for winter :/
Ok, this is where I'm at right now: The Tiny Birds lady, Jenny, says that 4 skeins of treliske is enough to make "any size" longies. So, knowing that crochet takes a little more yarn than knitting, I dyed 4 whole skeins the blue color figuring I'd use a 5th, still natural, for waist and ankle cuffs and half of the drawstring, just to be on the safe side. But apparently I need, like, 6 skeins (at least) in reality! And I feel horrible for you being the guinea pig here :/ Though I am glad I know better now, for Zoeparker's longies. I have enough yarn here to dye more, and was excited about the whole snowflakes and winter dealy, but I'm scared to screw up the color and have the bottom of the legs very obviously different (especially since I started with a botched blueberry dye that turned it gray, then went on to Kool-Aid, for the first "dye lot"...)
So...it is TOTALLY up to you. I honestly have no real preference here. If you want to be absolutely sure your colors stay true and homogenous and all, I can make them shorts or surfer shorts (calf length). If you would rather have winter style longies, and don't mind a risk of slight color difference, I'll go ahead and do it as we planned. Your call.
I feel so awful about this order :/ Olivia's doll and sushi came out so well and I know how much yarn to dye, now. Blah.
